tim o'connell, m.d. tim o'connell, m.d.
Dr. O'Connell received a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of New York at Albany in Albany, New York before obtaining his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He completed his internship in Family Practice followed by his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He has been in private practice in Newport News since 1989.

Dr. O'Connell has had extensive training in laser and pelviscope surgery and is Board certified through the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.


doug thom, m.d. doug thom, m.d.
Dr Thom trained at London University in England at St George's Hospital. After training in England for two further years, he came to the United States where he completed the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Dr. Thom has been practicing in the Hampton Roads area since 1985. He joined the Center for Women's Health in October of 1995. Dr. Thom has served as Chief of Medical Staff at Mary Immaculate Hospital. He is Board certified through the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Thom has a special interest in infertility, including microscopic reversal, and extensive training in current techniques of laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.


cheri coyle, m.d. cheri coyle, m.d.
Dr Cheri Coyle completed her medical training and residency specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Hospital SUNY Stony Brook. She has been in private practice in Hampton and Newport News since 1991.

Dr Coyle specializes in high risk Obstetrics and Urogynecology and has extensive training in laser and laparoscopic surgery. She is Board certified through the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Coyle brings a high level of expertise as a physician and a mother to our practice.

Dr. Ealena S. Callender completed her medical training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland after graduating cum laude from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She completed her residency specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Callender is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association.

As a Board Certified OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner, Katy Richardson has been meeting the needs of women for over 20 years. Katy completed her undergraduate studies at San Jose University and her practitioner training at Hampton University. 

Katy has a special interest in working with teens, but provides care for women of all ages with emphasis on patient education, disease prevention, and dealing with women's health challenges as they mature.
